Recap: Southland Academy Raiders vs. Tiftarea Academy Panthers
The Southland Academy Raiders had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 28-22 victory over Tiftarea Academy on Friday. The victory was just what Southland Academy needed coming off of a 49-0 loss in their prior match.
Tiftarea Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Lane Cole, who rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 61 receiving yards. John Robert Walker was another key contributor, throwing for 190 yards and two touchdowns.
Southland Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Tiftarea Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which lines up perfectly with their 1-7-1 record this season.
Southland Academy will take on Deerfield-Windsor at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Deerfield-Windsor is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Tiftarea Academy will take on Terrell Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Terrell Academy is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
