Maximus Miller was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Colin McCartney was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Mallard Creek: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-14 otherwise. Lenton Williams was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Mallard Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Mecklenburg only posted an OBP of .118.
Mallard Creek's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Chambers, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
