The Prescott Badgers will take on the Lee Williams Volunteers at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prescott is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Prescott made easy work of Westview and carried off a 20-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Badgers, who have now won seven matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
Cooper Magnett was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lucas Tobin, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Prescott always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Lee Williams hadn't done well against Flagstaff recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Volunteers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Eagles.
Lee Williams also got a great performance from Ian McGrew as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lincoln Lewandowski, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
Prescott is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lee Williams, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
Lee Williams' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Prescott hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .391. It's a different story for Lee Williams, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain Prescott's hitters?
Prescott was able to grind out a solid victory over Lee Williams in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 3-0. Will the Badgers repeat their success, or do the Volunteers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
