Softball Recap: Cypress Ranch Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Mustangs on Saturday. Cypress Ranch came up short against Memorial, falling 11-3. The match marked Cypress Ranch's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ryleigh Senegal was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she's launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Naomi Walker, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Cypress Ranch hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in 15 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Cypress Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Cypress Ranch will be playing at home against Cypress Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cypress Ranch is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Memorial, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 17-5 victory against Fort Bend Austin on the 15th.
