Softball Game Preview: Ridgeline Riverhawks vs. Timpanogos Timberwolves

For the second straight game, Ridgeline will face off against Timpanogos. The Riverhawks will square off against the Timberwolves at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Ridgeline will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Ridgeline is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over Timpanogos.

Kendyllee Jensen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ridgeline got a massive performance out of Ava Buttars, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Buttars a new career-high. Jerzee Jensen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ridgeline kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Timpanogos' loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Ridgeline, their win bumped their record up to 18-13.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Ridgeline hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Timpanogos struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
