Basketball Recap: Hawthorne Takes Down Crossroad Academy in a Playoff Battle

Hawthorne extended their postseason success on Friday against Crossroad Academy. They blew past the Crossroad Academy Scorpions 59-38. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Chasion Wilson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 63% from the field en route to 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least 16 points. Leland Johnson was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Hawthorne is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points over those games. With the loss, Crossroad Academy broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-10.
