Soccer Recap: New Bern vs. J.H. Rose

New Bern fought the good fight in their overtime contest against J.H. Rose on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the J.H. Rose Rampants by a score of 3-2. The Bears were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rampants from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Natalie Farver and Haley Sensenig scored both of New Bern's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

New Bern's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matches. As for J.H. Rose, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Bern will challenge Northside - Jacksonville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Northside - Jacksonville their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. J.H. Rose will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against D.H. Conley at 6:00 a.m. on March 25th.
