After flying high against Southern Wayne last Tuesday, C.B. Aycock came back down to earth. The Golden Falcons lost 9-3 to the Cape Fear Colts on Wednesday. The Golden Falcons' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Brooklyn Davis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

C.B. Aycock's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Cape Fear, their victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

Looking ahead, C.B. Aycock will square off against West Johnston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Golden Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cape Fear, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seventy-First at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.09 runs per game on average), something the Colts will no doubt try to take advantage of.
