Desert Christian hasn't had much luck against Paraclete recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Knights will venture away from home to take on the Spirits at 3:15 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Desert Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Valley Torah.

Logan Mount made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, Seth Zeko was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Andrew Silva, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.
Desert Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Paraclete entered their tilt with Littlerock on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Lobos 10-3.
Like Desert Christian, Paraclete also got a great game from a two-way player: Carlo Ramirez. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ramirez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Paraclete is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 11-12 otherwise. Ramirez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Armando Saucedo and Noah Schneir did most of the damage at the plate: Saucedo went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Schneir went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Paraclete is undefeated when Schneir posts three or more RBI, but 11-13 otherwise. Jayden Espindola was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Paraclete's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-13. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Desert Christian, their record now sits at 7-8-2.
Desert Christian couldn't quite get it done against Paraclete in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 13-8. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
