Basketball Game Preview: NorthWood Panthers vs. Westfield Shamrocks

The NorthWood Panthers and the Westfield Shamrocks will round out the year against one another at at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. NorthWood will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

NorthWood is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They put the hurt on Plymouth with a sharp 68-42 win on Saturday. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 24 points or more this season.

NorthWood relied on the efforts of Kinzee Hartman, who went 8 for 14 from beyond the arc on her way to 26 points, and Claire Payne, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. Those 26 points gave Hartman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Haylee Heflin, who posted nine points.

NorthWood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 16 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Westfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Noblesville by a score of 53-51.

NorthWood's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Westfield, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
