Softball Game Preview: Alexander Bulldogs vs. Laredo LBJ Wolves

The Alexander Bulldogs and the Laredo LBJ Wolves will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Alexander's offense. They came up short against Eagle Pass on Tuesday, falling 7-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Laredo LBJ also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 15-0 to Medina Valley last Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Wolves' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

The loss snapped Laredo LBJ's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-4 record. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Alexander, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.
