Basketball Recap: 11 Straight Home Wins for San Marcos

San Marcos had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.8 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They claimed a resounding 73-43 victory over the Del Norte Nighthawks. The Knights pushed the score to 65-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Nighthawks cut but never quite recovered from.

San Marcos was led to victory by Richie Ramirez and Jalen Williams. Ramirez went 8 for 14 on his way to 20 points and five assists, while Williams went 6 of 8 en route to 17 points. The contest was Ramirez's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Mike Brown was another key player, putting up six points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks.

San Marcos' win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 32.6% in those games and 29.4% outside of them. As for Del Norte, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-12.
