Baseball Recap: Cascade Bruins vs. Shorecrest Scots
Cascade had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 1-1 to make it five. They came up short against the Shorecrest Scots, falling 10-3. If the Bruins were looking for revenge after losing 10-2 to the Scots when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Shorecrest, they now have a winning record of 1-0-1. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8, 2025 (when they won 10-0).
For Shorecrest's part, Oliver Verdoes looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Elyas Rojas was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Koen Ekstrom was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Coming up, Cascade is taking a road trip to square off against Marysville Getchell at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Shorecrest, they will face off against Ballard at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
