Baseball Recap: Minarets Drops Season-High Score on Madera South

Minarets had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 8-15 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They blew past the Madera South Stallions 13-3. The Mustangs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Minarets got a great performance from Logan Meyer as he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Meyer also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Mustangs are 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-14 otherwise.

At the plate, Minarets let Torin Wolf and Aidan Johnson run wild. Wolf got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Johnson went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. That's the most hits Johnson has posted since back in February. Ethan Akins also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Minarets always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

As for Madera South, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-19-1 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

On Madera South's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Moles, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, Minarets will face off against Chowchilla at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Tribe have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches. As for Madera South, they will take on Torres at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
