Volleyball Recap: Northridge Takes a Loss

Northridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Thompson Valley Eagles, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Grizzlies of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-13, 25-10.

Sophia Carbajal paced Northridge's offense, picking up four kills. Carbajal were helped by Ella Burkholder and Dalanie Jones, who contributed three assists each. Finally, Carbajal was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Dany Alps had a dynamite game For Thompson Valley., getting seven digs, five kills, and three aces. Alps is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Payton Reichelderfer, who had seven digs and three aces.

Northridge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Thompson Valley, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Northridge has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Timnath on the 11th. As for Thompson Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Greeley Central on the 11th.
