Basketball Recap: Prior Lake Christian Starts Season with Victory at Home

Prior Lake Christian took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They walked away with a 69-61 win over the South Metro HomeSchool Huskies. For the Royals, this counts as revenge for the 56-55 victory the Huskies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Prior Lake Christian was led to victory by Elijah Wilson and Micah Lindsey. Wilson dropped a double-double with 25 points and 20 boards, while Lindsey dropped a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds. The matchup was Wilson's sixth in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Will Lindgren, who posted six points and 11 boards.

Prior Lake Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 31 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

South Metro HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Prior Lake Christian will square off against Owatonna Christian at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Royals their first taste of in-conference action this season. South Metro HomeSchool will be paying especially close attention to Prior Lake Christian's game: after Prior Lake Christian faces off against Chisago Christian School, they'll take on South Metro HomeSchool again at 6:45 p.m. on February 9, 2026.
