Southside has won six straight games at home, while Pamlico County has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Southside Seahawks will welcome the Pamlico County Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Southside is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game last Friday with ease, bagging a 63-32 win over Lejeune.

Southside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tamya Smith, who went 9 of 14 en route to 20 points along with five boards and three steals. That's the most points Smith has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was I'Kiriyah Minor, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 14 points and six rebounds.
Southside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Pamlico County's strategy against Jones on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Pamlico County blew Jones out of the water with a 60-11 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-8.
Pamlico County found their leader in sophomore Nya Clark, who went 9 of 16 en route to 18 points in addition to five assists and five steals. The game was Clark's third in a row with at least ten points. Kyliyah Barber was another key player, going 6 for 8 on her way to 12 points along with six assists and six steals.
Southside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.7 points per game. As for Pamlico County, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2.
Tuesday's contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Lily McLean and Sydney Whitley-Reese. McLean has been dynamite this season: she has averaged 10.5 points and 3.4 steals. For her part, Whitley-Reese has averaged 20.6 points, 4.6 steals, and 10.4 boards.
Southside lost to Pamlico County at home by a decisive 51-33 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Whitley-Reese, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. Now that Southside knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
