Basketball Recap: Triangle Math & Science Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Triangle Math & Science hadn't done well against Chatham Charter recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Triangle Math & Science Tigers came out on top against the Chatham Charter Knights by a score of 41-31. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Triangle Math & Science's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Noor Rana led the charge by going 5-for-12 en route to 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Rana has scored at least a third of Triangle Math & Science's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zainab Mcelhinney, who posted six points in addition to 13 rebounds and five blocks.

Triangle Math & Science was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chatham Charter only three assists.

Chatham Charter lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Peyton York, who scored nine points. She is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 100% in the last four games she's played. Skylar Lynn was another key player, as she made all 5 shots she took racking up 11 points.

Triangle Math & Science pushed their record up to 16-7 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Chatham Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 12-14.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers challenge the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on February 25th. As for Chatham Charter, they will square off against Bear Grass Charter at 6:00 p.m. on February 25th. Bear Grass Charter will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Chatham Charter surely won't give up without a fight.
