Baseball Recap: Lincolnton Comes Up Short

Lincolnton might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was West Lincoln who claimed the real prize. The Wolves fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 13-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Lincolnton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karson Cloninger, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Lincolnton has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for West Lincoln, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-10.

Coming up, Lincolnton will face off against Pinnacle Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Lincoln will be paying especially close attention to the Wolves' matchup: after the Wolves face off against the Eagles, they'll take on West Lincoln again at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
