Basketball Recap: Johnston Takes a Loss

Johnston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the East Providence Townies, falling 59-34. The Panthers lost against the Townies in their previous head to head back in March of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 58-54 score last time.

Johnston's record is now 0-20. As for East Providence, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10.

Looking ahead, Johnston and Bishop Hendricken will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday without much rest, having both just played. As for East Providence, they and La Salle Academy will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday without much rest, having both just played. La Salle Academy will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something East Providence surely won't give up without a fight.
