Allena Lennard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jayme Zeigler was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Avery Benedict was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, McComb made easy work of Arlington on Thursday and carried off a 15-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 12 games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Joruney Scheff was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Dingledine, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
McComb kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive contests.
North Baltimore's record is now 14-7. As for McComb, their record now sits at 13-8.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. North Baltimore has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443. However, it's not like McComb struggles in that department as they've averaged .493. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went North Baltimore's way against McComb in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, as North Baltimore made off with a 13-2 win. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
