Basketball Recap: Elgin Takes a Loss

Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 52-26 to the East View Patriots. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-20 back in January.

Despite the loss, Elgin still got an impressive performance from Trinity Martinez, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Martinez a new career-high in rebounds.

Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 6-28. As for East View, they moved to 9-23 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Elgin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East View, they will challenge Hendrickson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East View has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
