Volleyball Recap: New Smyrna Beach Takes a Loss

New Smyrna Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Academy of Central Florida National Golden Bulls.

Despite the loss, New Smyrna Beach saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sofia Mackin had 15 digs. Elianna Eichhorn also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

New Smyrna Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Academy of Central Florida National, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Coincidentally, New Smyrna Beach and Academy of Central Florida National will both be playing DME Academy the next time they take the court. The Barracudas will head out to face the - at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Golden Bulls will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
