Softball Recap: North Star Takes a Loss

North Star made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Shade, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cougars fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 11-9 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Morgan Snyder was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Lexi Swanson, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

North Star's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Shade, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Coming up, North Star will be playing at home against Berlin Brothersvalley at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mountaineers have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Shade, they will head out on the road to challenge Turkeyfoot Valley Area at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
