Baseball Recap: Harper Creek Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Harper Creek got themselves on the board against Lakeview on Friday, but Lakeview never followed suit. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 5-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Beavers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Not much got past Finn Mahoney, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep Lakeview off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brayden Bess, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Braxton Liss was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

Harper Creek's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Coincidentally, Harper Creek and Lakeview will both be playing Portage Northern the next time they take the field. The Beavers will head out to face the Huskies at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Spartans will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
