Football Recap: Dimond Falls Short Against Ranked Juneau-Douglas

Dimond faced Juneau-Douglas in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Lynx and the Crimson Bears were almost perfectly matched up, but the Lynx suffered a 15-14 loss. The Lynx were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crimson Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Abraham Tauanuu threw for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 passes. Caleb Cooke was his top target, picking up 54 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Pea Asailevai rushed for 58 yards on only eight carries.

Dimond's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Juneau-Douglas, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dimond will challenge South Anchorage at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Juneau-Douglas, they will square off against Colony at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Crimson Bears will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.33 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
