Baseball Recap: Waynoka Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Covington-Douglas, Waynoka was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Okeene Whippets by a score of 8-4. The Railroaders haven't had any issues with the Whippets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Daycen Cunningham was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs but no hits. Cunningham was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on William Rohde, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Stetson Nix was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Waynoka's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Okeene, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Coming up, Waynoka will face off against Cherokee at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Okeene, they will head out on the road to take on Cimarron at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
