Baseball Recap: Williams Valley Takes a Loss

Williams Valley lost against Minersville back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Vikings fell 6-2 to the Battlin' Miners. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mason Bowser was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Williams Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Boehmer, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

Williams Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Minersville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-8.

Looking ahead, Williams Valley is taking a road trip to take on Panther Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Minersville, they will take on Tri-Valley in a tournament on Monday.
