Eustace is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will face off against the Mineola Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Eustace made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Frankston, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went Eustace's way against Frankston on Friday as Eustace made off with a 12-3 victory. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Madilyn Andrews made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Lexi Thompson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2024. Page Miller was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Eustace was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Mineola posted their biggest win since April 12, 2024 on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Brownsboro an 11-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.
Jadelyn Marshall was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Journie Wilson, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. She also got three hits, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kali Chrietzberg, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Mineola's record is now 3-4. As for Eustace, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-5 record.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Eustace hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Mineola struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Eustace suffered a grim 11-2 defeat to Mineola in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Eustace avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
