Basketball Recap: St. Pauls Takes a Loss

St. Pauls lost against Fairmont last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs were dealt a 61-32 loss at the hands of the Golden Tornadoes. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fairmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laila Grady, who went 9-for-12 en route to 21 points. Those 21 points gave Grady a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyric McNair, who dropped a triple-double with ten points, ten boards, and 11 assists.

St. Pauls' defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Fairmont, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Pauls will take on Richmond Senior in a tournament on Wednesday. As for Fairmont, they will be taking part in a tournament against Red Springs on Wednesday.
