Basketball Recap: Willmar Comes Up Short

Willmar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 56-48 to the Brainerd Warriors. The Cardinals lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 93-51 score last time.

Willmar's record now sits at 0-4. As for Brainerd, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Willmar will venture away from home to challenge Becker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Becker knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Willmar likes a good challenge. Brainerd and St. Michael-Albertville will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. St. Michael-Albertville will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Brainerd surely won't give up without a fight.
