Baseball Recap: California Lutheran Has No Trouble Against United Christian Academy

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when California Lutheran and United Christian Academy meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The C-Hawks blew past the Eagles 10-0. Considering the C-Hawks have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ethan Ash made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Hansen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Mathias Galanos was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

California Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as United Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .167.

California Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for United Christian Academy, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-7.

California Lutheran has already played their next match, a 15-0 victory against Norton Science & Language Academy on the 7th. United Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
