With a playoff win on the line, Sterlington rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the St. James Wildcats a 17-0 shutout. Considering the Panthers have won 16 matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the sixth in a row for Sterlington, bringing their record up to 28-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for St. James, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-11.

Sterlington didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-0 win against St. James on the 22nd. The Wildcats does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
