Baseball Recap: Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles vs. Benjamin Franklin Chargers
Bourgade Catholic had lost eight straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 5-16 to make it nine. They lost 10-0 to the Benjamin Franklin Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 on April 3rd.
As for Benjamin Franklin, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9-1 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.
For Benjamin Franklin's part, Paolo Baca made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Benjamin Franklin is undefeated when Baca allows three or fewer hits, but 8-9-1 otherwise. Baca was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
