Volleyball Recap: Torrington Comes Up Short

Torrington lost against Gering on Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Trailblazers fell 2-0 to the Bulldogs.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-21.

Torrington's offense was headlined by Brooklyn Asmus and Zoe Wilson, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Natalie Long and her 11 assists. Ellis Mortimore and Kinley Bluemel kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Torrington has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10-2 record this season. As for Gering, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-6.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Torrington and Newcastle will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Gering has already played their next matchup (against Wheatland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
