The Goodpasture Christian Cougars were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past the Columbia Academy Bulldogs 42-7. Considering the Cougars have won four matchups by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Goodpasture Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Angell, who threw for 173 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Slim Leavell also helped out with an impressive 93 receiving yards.

Goodpasture Christian pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.8 points on average over those games. As for Columbia Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goodpasture Christian will venture away from home to challenge Franklin Road Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbia Academy, they will head out to square off against Marshall County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
