Recap: Rockledge Raiders vs. Pine Ridge Panthers
The Rockledge Raiders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-40 win over Pine Ridge. Rockledge didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.
Leading Rockledge to victory were Makaiya Watkins and Jaida Williams-Goins. Watkins scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while Williams-Goins scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The match was Williams-Goins' ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Bradley, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Rockledge's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Pine Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Rockledge will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Master's Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Pine Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Augustine at 3:30 p.m. on December 16th. St. Augustine presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pine Ridge in Florida (St. Augustine is ranked 55th, while Pine Ridge is ranked 424th).
