Baseball Recap: Williamsport Takes a Loss

Williamsport fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against State College on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Little Lions by a score of 2-1. The Millionaires haven't had much luck with the Little Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Williamsport's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for State College, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Williamsport will be playing in front of their home fans against Selinsgrove at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Seals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.77 runs per game on average), something the Millionaires will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for State College, they will head out to take on Cedar Cliff at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Colts' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Little Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
