Soccer Recap: Ponchatoula Falls Short of Jesuit in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ponchatoula can now relate to. They lost 4-0 to the Jesuit Blue Jays on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Green Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Blue Jays are ranked third).

Ponchatoula now has a losing record at 9-10-2. As for Jesuit, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1-2.

Ponchatoula does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jesuit, they will square off against Byrd on Monday. Jesuit's defense has only allowed 0.2 goals per game this season, so Byrd's offense will have their work cut out for them.
