Basketball Recap: Mohonasen Takes a Loss

Mohonasen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-58 heartbreaker at the hands of the Catholic Central Crusaders. The Warriors lost against the Crusaders in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 82-46 score last time.

Catholic Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sei'Mir Roberson, who went 8 for 18 en route to 28 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Roberson has been hot for a while, having posted 22 or more points the last ten times he's played. Qwameik Smith was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Mohonasen's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Catholic Central, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

Mohonasen will challenge Lansingburgh at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Catholic Central, they will face off against La Salle Institute at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Catholic Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully La Salle Institute likes a good challenge.
