League recap: Tipton climbs in state rankings

Tipton scaled the state rankings by moving to 44 from 72 this week, the biggest jump in Hoosier. The Blue Devils climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Cass 38-13.

Lafayette Central Catholic added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating North Putnam, 51-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

Garrett Johnson was a beast in the backfield as Delphi Community defeated Benton Central.

Parker Ronchetto threw for 248 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Kole Young was a key player and the best on defense this week as Twin Lakes beat Culver Academies. He recorded 1 fumble.

Kyle Turner was the best receiver in the league this week as West Lafayette topped Delta. Turner racked up 7 receptions for 109 yards. Travis Rolle helped West Lafayette's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 67 yards.

West Lafayette's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Red Devils feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ronchetto has thrown for 2,007 yards and 25 touchdowns this season, while Rolle has 36 catches for 532 yards.

Johnson of the the Oracles is only 22 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 205 carries Johnson has put up 978 yards this year.

An important game coming up in Hoosier this week will be when Lafayette Central Catholic takes on Tipton. Kevin O'Shea's team is in second place, while Aaron Tolle's team is in fourth place.

The Indians and the Eagles played the most contested game in the league this week, with the Indians eventually emerging with a 14-13 victory. Michael Griffin ran for 96 yards in the win.
