Preview: Tioga Pirates vs. Glenburn Panther
Tioga is on a five-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Glenburn a ten-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Tioga Pirates will take on the Glenburn Panther at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Monday, Tioga took a serious blow against Trinity Christian, falling 87-52. While losing is never fun, Tioga can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Trinity Christian is ranked 32nd).
Meanwhile, Glenburn had to suffer through a rough 76-41 loss at the hands of Westhope/Newburg. Glenburn has struggled against Westhope/Newburg recently, as their matchup on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Tioga has not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Glenburn, their loss dropped their record down to 0-17.
Everything came up roses for Tioga against Glenburn when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 81-32 victory. Will Tioga repeat their success, or does Glenburn have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
