Lackey took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Great Mills, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Chargers won by a run and slipped past the Hornets 8-7. This was payback for the Chargers, who suffered an 18-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lackey's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-7. As for Great Mills, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lackey will challenge Chopticon at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Braves will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Great Mills, they will head out on the road to face off against Patuxent at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.27 runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
