Recap: Bassick Lions vs. Foran Lions
This season hasn't been kind to The Bassick Lions, who are still winless after their eighth game. They were beaten by Foran 35-0 on Friday. Bassick has struggled against Foran recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Foran's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabe Bonessi, who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Another player making a difference was Joey Gagliardi, who threw for 111 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.
Bassick's loss was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 0-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 3.6 points per game. As for Foran, their win bumped their record up to 4-4.
Coincidentally, Bassick and Foran will both be playing Harding the next time they take the field. Bassick will head out to face Harding at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Foran will host them at 6:00 p.m. on November 16th.
