Basketball Recap: Montbello Takes a Loss

Montbello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 75-31 loss at the hands of the Denver North Vikings. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-13.

Montbello's loss came despite strong showings from Kian Martin and Jeveon West. Martin went 5 for 11 en route to 13 points and five boards, while West went 5 of 12 on his way to 10 points and eight rebounds.

Denver North's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sammy Barajas, who went 5 of 10 en route to 13 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cheo Rodriguez, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 15 points and three steals.

Montbello's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Denver North, they pushed their record up to 8-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Montbello didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-42 defeat against Regis Groff on the 24th. As for Denver North, they will take on Thomas Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thomas Jefferson will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Denver North surely won't give up without a fight.
