Volleyball Recap: Melissa Gets the Win

Melissa posted their closest victory since August 12th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Midland Christian Mustangs, sneaking past 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2023.

Their offense was headlined by Duura Kpea and Kennedy Scott, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Presley Williford and her 11 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

The win made it two in a row for Melissa and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for Midland Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Melissa has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Grandview on the 21st. As for Midland Christian, they will square off against San Angelo Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
