Basketball Game Preview: Greenfield Knights vs. Community Christian Cyclones

The Greenfield Knights will take on the Community Christian Cyclones at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Community Christian took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Greenfield, who comes in off a win.

Greenfield took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They managed a 50-46 victory over Wayne Christian.

Meanwhile, Community Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Trinity Christian, falling 53-32. While losing is never fun, the Cyclones can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 411th, while the Tigers are ranked 117th).

Greenfield has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Community Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Everything came up roses for Greenfield against Community Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2021, as the squad secured a 58-18 win. Will Greenfield repeat their success, or does Community Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
