Baseball Recap: Linfield Christian Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

While Linfield Christian's victory against Ontario Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions skirted past the Knights 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since March 18th.

Noah Getz tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Linfield Christian's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kai Carson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits Carson has posted since back in March.

Linfield Christian has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Ontario Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

Coincidentally, Linfield Christian and Ontario Christian will both be playing Aquinas the next time they take the field. The Lions will head out to face the Falcons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Knights will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
