Baseball Recap: Sanger Gets the Win

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Sanger ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 12-9 victory over the Van Alstyne Panthers. The high-scoring effort was just what the Indians needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Michael McKeown tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Sanger got a massive performance out of Twister Wilson, who got on base in five of his seven plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Logan Swofford, who went 4-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Sanger's win bumped their record up to 14-9-2. As for Van Alstyne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-15.

Sanger will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
