Football Recap: Southern Christian Skates Past Faith Christian Homeschool Academy with Ease

Southern Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed past the Faith Christian HomeSchool Academy Tornadoes to the tune of 35-6.

Southern Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Bailey out in front who rushed for 53 yards and two TDs. Bailey was even better on defense, picking up 3.5 sacks, forcing one fumble, and making ten total tackles (4.5 for loss). The team also got some help courtesy of Jagger Scott, who rushed for 53 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries.

Southern Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. In that department, Bailey was the leader with 3.5 sacks.

Southern Christian and Faith Christian HomeSchool Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Patriots see the field they'll take on Ezekiel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Faith Christian HomeSchool Academy, their break will end when they face Carolina W at 3:00 p.m. on September 20.
